Had the chance yesterday to sit down and talk at length with Lt.Col. Huie Lamb... WWII Ace. Huie started out flying P-47's out of RAF Duxford and was credited with the first ME-262 shot down by a P-47. He also is one of just a few pilots during WWII who were credited with two jet kills. The other was an Arado 234 bomber. Huie transitioned to P-51s in December of 1944 and on his first mission had an engine fire and had to ditch in the North Atlantic (northern end of the Channel). He was rescued and continued to fly through the end of the war. He also flew F-84G's in the late 40's and early 50's. He is 93 now and is still going strong. He's a great guy and I'm proud to call him friend. The first picture was taken just before dinner at an Honor Flight -Austin fund raiser. I represented my car club and presented Honor Flight - Austin with a check for $42,750. We raised that money last December selling a '65 El Camino at the Mecum classic car auction in Austin. The second picture is his second P-51D "Etta Jeanne II" in early 1945. He named the plane after his little sister. The last is the same plane that now sits in the American Aviation Museum at RAF Duxford. That's Huie standing next to it.

That is so cool you got to talk to him. At the rate we are losing the greatest generation the opportunity to do so is few and far.
